Attendance Policy
At Joyful Noise!, we believe that consistent attendance not only supports musical growth but also helps build a supportive and joyful community among our homeschool families. We ask that all choir members make a strong commitment to attending every scheduled rehearsal. And practice at home, for the love of chocolate chip cookies!
Solos: Solos will be introduced in rehearsals and students will be given at least one week's notice before we hold auditions. This is why it is important to attend each rehearsal session!
Dress Rehearsal: Required. Far too much can change at the last minute during a dress rehearsal, including places and processing in or out. Please be there.

Additional Local Performing Opportunities
If we're going to call ourselves Joyful Noise, I'd love for that joy to be experienced beyond our own walls. I’ve compiled a list of local nursing homes and adult living facilities where we can do exactly this! If you have any location suggestions, please share if you know of others. We’re aiming to remain within 20 minutes of the church building.
These “musical field trips” will happen in the latter half of the season, I’m working on dates/places/times. I look forward to spending time with the residents of these facilities and can see how this experiences will show our choir singers that music is a way to serve others with the gifts God has given them—not just perform for family and friends.
Professional Behavior Policy
I strive to create an encouraging, respectful, and well-structured environment where every student feels valued and able to thrive musically. To maintain a smooth and focused rehearsal space, we ask for cooperation with the following guidelines.
Expectations:
Listen attentively during instruction and music-making. Trust your director to help you become a better singer! Listen to her :) Interruptions slow us down but MUSIC QUESTIONS are great and always welcome! But, for the love of chocolate chip cookies, please raise your hand.
Show kindness and respect to all fellow choir members and leaders.
This means when we are critiquing our singing, we do so with constructive words only. This is a practical way we can practice telling the Truth in Love. I love to see students offering to help each other with parts! We all have room to improve, even me! And we can build each other up by helping with a positive attitude.
Bring only what is needed: a pencil, water bottle, your choir folder ... and your face!
No snacks, toys, phones, games or distractions are permitted during rehearsal time.
Bullying or mistreatment of others will not be tolerated.
Disruptive Behavior:
I understand that children have off days, and will approach behavioral challenges with care and compassion. That said, I’m committed to maintaining a productive and respectful rehearsal environment for all. Bullying and mistreatment of others will not be tolerated. Please do not interrupt when the director is teaching or we are in the middle of singing.
One – A gentle reminder and redirection from the Choir Director.
Two – A private conversation with the student and parent after rehearsal.
Three – A meeting with the family to discuss whether continuing for the semester is appropriate.
Our goal is to encourage personal responsibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude—all in the spirit of joyful music-making! This policy is not intended to punish a child for behavior exceptionalities but serves to maintain the continuity, productivity and flow of our limited rehearsal time.
Media Permissions
From time to time, Joyful Noise! may take photos or short video clips during rehearsals or performances to celebrate our singers' hard work and share the joy of music with our community. These images may be used on our website, in promotional materials, or shared privately with choir families.
Your child's name will never be published alongside their image.
You will be asked to indicate your media permission preferences during registration. If you change your mind at any time, you are welcome to revoke media permissions by contacting Angela directly at 609-287-8616 or via email angelagasior7@gmail.com!
